Description

Many landowners enjoy learning about the types of wildlife that are present on their lands. One simple, low-cost method that can be used to accomplish this goal is the deployment of scent stations. The easily installed "traps" allow landowners to identify the species moving through their property through the identification of their footprints. In this video, Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife biologist, Robert Cordes demonstrates how to set up, evaluate, and maintain a scent station. This video complements Lesson 2 in Unit 1 (Animals diversity and tracking) of the Nature of Teaching series.
